Education
"I've never worked A day in my life."
Coming into the United States was easy enough; she got a passport, and took a plane with her husband to Philadelphia, where he was residing and had found work. "Our house was small, but good enough for the both of us." And she was right, it was fine enough for the both of them. Hanae had never worked in her home country; she had to have a college degree before she could even think about applying for any kind of job.
"In mY COUNTRY, YOU CAN'T WORK WITHOUT A DEGREE."
Because of her lack of experience and lack of skills (other than mathematic), a friend of her husband's suggested the Welcoming Center in order to further her English speaking and education so that she could potentially get a job. Hanae was excited; she could finally pursue her education and get a job. "It was exciting to go there at first, to meet new people."
